Meaning 'to trick the eye', Trompe L'Oeil is the art of deception. The visual trickery of 3 dimensions is created by applying colours for shadows and highlights.

This plain door looked out of place against the real panelled walls, so I painted the panels on. |
This small shrine in St Thomas' looked too plain, so I copied the other overdoor panels to create a stone carved arch.
