St Thomas Church
We have been deeply involved in the re-ordering of St Thomas church in St Helier, Jersey. This has been a remarkable project which has covered all aspects of Artizen, including gilding, decoration, Trompe L'Oeil, woodgraining, restoration, murals and pattern work.
|

Before, St Thomas' could only be described as drab. The grey interior made the church cold and uninviting.
|
The ceiling was cleaned and the ribbing painted in red, yellow and green. These colours were taken from the original encaustic tiles. |

The bosses had never been painted and were barely visible from 60ft below. We embellished them with decoration and gold leaf. |

This navy blue ceiling of the Chapel of our Lady of Fatima was gilded with stars |

All of the carved stone work has been gilded. |

This 4 part stencil pattern was achieved using gold paint.
The freise has been picked out with cream paint and gold leaf. |
|

The capitals around the font have been gilded |

|

The walls behind the tabernacle were stencilled in gold paint, with a four part stencil. |
|
Parts of the original tiles were missing..... |

So I painted them in! |
